HAMBURG, N.Y. --- Hot Patootie cooled off the field in the featured $8,200 pace for the mares at Buffalo Raceway on Wednesday night (May 10) by going wire-to-wire and breezing to a easy 2-1/4 length win over Sandy De Vie in 1:55.0.

Hot Patootie breezes to easy victory on Wednesday.

With the usual front-running Deliciouslynaughty scratched from the event sick, it enabled Hot Patootie (Drew Monti) to get an uncontested lead from the pylons while the rest of the field dropped into line quickly in post position order.

With fractions of 28.4, 57.3 and 1:26.3 over the fast track, Hot Patootie ($6.00) had nothing but clear sailing down the stretch as the reminder of the field failed to mount any kind of threat. The favored Sandy De Vie (Jim Morrill Jr.) took the place position while Squeeze This (Ron Beback Jr.) won the battle for third.

Owned by David Crumb and trained by Joe Skowyra, Hot Patootie (Hot Pans-Getting Better) is a 5-year-old mare that now has four victories in 15 attempts in 2017. The win moved her seasonal earnings to $13,478 and $76,667 lifetime.

Monti, after posting a six-bagger on Saturday night, remained hot with four more victories while Stalbaum added a triple.

Racing will continue on Friday evening at Buffalo Raceway with an 11-race program slated for 5 p.m.
