HAMBURG, N.Y. --- There was plenty of 'luck' to be had in Buffalo Raceway's featured $9,000 Open II pace on Saturday night (June 18) as Lucky Nadotremblay ($8.00) rallied in time to beat Lucky King by a half length in 1:55.0 over the fast track.
It was a scramble to the top as Lucky King managed to grab the lead just before the opening stanza as Lucky Nadotremblay settled back and enjoyed the pocket trip. With splits of 28.2, 56.3 and 1:25.4, Lucky King tried to make it to the end but in mid stretch, Lucky Nadotremblay got into high gear and roared on by to snatch the victory.
Lucky King (Ron Beback Jr.) was able to hold on for second place while Bad Fox (Lee Dahn) took the show spot.
It was the fourth victory of the season for Lucky Nadotremblay who is trained by Alex Giuliani and is co-owned the Paul and Ronald Viele. The win moved the 6-year-old's seasonal earnings to $22,623 and $152,992 lifetime.
Jim Morrill Jr. had a triple while Todd Cummings and David McNeight III each doubled in the sulky. Trainer JD Perrin had a pair of wins.
Racing will continue on Sunday afternoon at Buffalo Raceway with the first matinee of the season getting underway at 12:30 p.m.
