LATHAM, N.Y.—A seminar for new and prospective owners sponsored by the Agriculture and New York State Horse Breeding Development Fund and hosted by Harness Horse Breeders of New York State will be held at Buffalo Raceway in Hamburg, New York.  This seminar will provide valuable information for prospective or rookie owners and focus on all aspects of horse ownership. 

 

The seminar is scheduled for Sunday July 19th, 2015 at Buffalo Raceway.hhbnys.gif

The seminar will start at 10:00 a.m. and include a meal and live racing. 

 

The seminar will cover the rewards and risks of horse ownership, actual costs, choosing young horses or claimers and how to choose a trainer. Participants will have the opportunity to tour the racing facility and meet the Race Secretary and the Presiding Judge.  Time permitting they will also visit a trainer’s stable and talk with owners.

 

Tuition is $20 per person or $30 per couple and includes the seminar, materials, food, live racing, a pathways certificate, membership to HHBNYS and follow-up services.
