HAMBURG, N.Y. --- Buffalo Raceway's winning favorites have been hitting at nearly a 45 percent clip this season but that statistic took a beating on Sunday afternoon (July 10) as long shots ruled the day. Only three post time favorites found the winner's circle while the big prices were the norm.

Driver Shawn McDonough was the main culprit on the day as he steered home three double digit winners.

McDonough, who also had a training victory, scored aboard Goddess's Justin ($10.60), Alexa's Prayer ($16.20) and Lucky Style ($27.00).

Michael Whelan brought home the biggest price on the program with a $30.60 victory on Western Expression.

Kevin Cummings had a driving double as he brought home bombs Scarlet Starlet ($12.60) and Mixed Media ($24.00).

Ray Fisher Jr. wasn't a part the chaos as he had a double, registering wins with the favored Lady Jill ($5.10) and Whitesand Noble ($4.70).

Racing will return on Wednesday night at 5 p.m. with a 14-race card set. The New York Sire Stakes for 2-year-old colt and gelding trotters will be in the spotlight along with action in the Excelsior A and B Series. The Pick-5, which starts in the fifth race, will have a $597 carryover.
